Assessment

Assessment serves as a tool or method of obtaining measurable and objective data about a person’s symptomatic behaviour. It gives an in-depth understanding of an individual’s emotional, behavioral and cognitive functioning.

Psychological Assessment:

Psychological assessments help to review the strengths and weaknesses of your personality, cognitive abilities and emotional well-being. Standardized psychometric tests are used to provide an objective picture which helps you and the therapist to identify and address the issues at hand, and formulate a treatment plan accordingly. Areas of assessment include personality, emotion, intelligence and learning disability, and aptitude. We also conduct corporate testing on request.

Aptitude Assessment:

An aptitude test gauges your abilities, interests and personality traits, which help outline your vocation. Shedding light on your strengths and weaknesses, aptitude tests aim to equip individuals to make more informed career choices, or resolve any dilemmas about the same. While it is designed for children who are at the threshold of a major career decision, aptitude tests also cater to adults who need guidance to make a career switch, or understand their most fulfilling career choice. Separate tests are administered based on age – 12 to 16 years for children and one for adults belonging to the category 16 and above.

Drug Testing:

Drug tests allow us to detect the presence of drugs in one’s system, helping to identify and treat for a drug problem, which may be the cause of various personality/adjustment issues. Tests are available for various drugs based on a urine sample, and are conducted at the clinic itself.

Abuse of and dependence on chemicals / drugs has reached alarming proportions in India. This exists in all sectors, be it schools, colleges or the workplace. Till some time ago, it was virtually impossible to detect the presence of such drugs within the individual’s body. However, Lateral Flow Chromatographic Immunoassays for the qualitative detection of drugs and drug metabolites in urine are now available. Some of these tests are available for the first time in India. The IIDRT has been using these tests for some time now and has found them to be highly sensitive and specific.
